In-Person Services

We schedule appointments in person at our office, 29 Patten Parkway, Chattanooga, usually at 10:00 am. or 2:00 p.m., but at any time by prior arrangement. While we frequently handle emergencies without appointments, especially in domestic violence cases, we encourage telephone calls first to 423-756-0128. Most of our walk-in visits are by people who actually need assistance from Legal Aid of East Tennessee, 744 McCallie Avenue, telephone number 423-756-4013.

How Much Does Legal Help Cost?

We do not charge for the legal help that we give. However, you may have to pay court costs to take a case to court. This is usually an affordable amount, but if it is too much for you, a judge may defer it. You may also have to pay for some other expenses such as copies of records, court reporters, and so forth. Again, you will not be charged for our attorney's or a legal assistantís time or advice.

What We Need to Know When We See You

If we have represented you before, please tell that to the person with whom you first speak. We need the name, address, and telephone number of any person with whom you have a dispute. If a lawyer is representing that person, we will need to know that too.

What to Bring with You when You Come to our Office

If you have been sued, bring all legal papers you have received. If you have a problem with a loan or because of another legal document that you signed, bring the document that you signed. If you have received a letter from a lawyer or the person with whom you have a dispute, bring it. In general, bring everything you think we might need. If you are not sure what to bring, call us first.
